Locating cylinder with wedge clamp system

Mechanical clamping system from norelem positions standard parts in seconds

Durable, easy assembly and a clamping range of 0 to 30 millimetres: locating cylinders from norelem with a wedge clamp system reliably fasten and centre standard parts and adapt quickly to changes in the production process.

Mechanical positioning systems are used in many different processes in automated production. They must be fast and reliable and easy to readjust if necessary.

Locating cylinders from norelem with a wedge clamp system fulfil all these points. They are made of burnished high-carbon steel and are available in four different diameters from 10 to 20 mm. The cylinders achieve a retaining force of 5.4 kN to 22.6 kN, with a clamping range of 0 to 30 mm. This makes them ideal for many manufacturing processes involving the fastening and fixating of standard elements – also in conjunction with quick-change systems.

Easy to assemble, many advantages

Standard tools are sufficient to assemble the locating cylinders; the cylinder is even spring loaded by hand. Centring or locating bushes are not necessary. Compared to solutions with balls, locating cylinders from norelem with a wedge clamp system offer above all a significant increase in clamping force with the same tightening torque. The high-quality thrust bearing impresses with its high load rating and long service life.

Further advantages:

  • Easily adjustable clamping range
  • Independent of diameter and surface finish of the bore (up to H12)
  • Draw-down effect
  • Fixture flexibility for rapid response to changes in the production process

As an accessory, norelem offers a repair kit (screw with countersunk head, O-ring and 3-part jaws) with which a locating cylinder can be repaired quickly and easily.

By the way: The norelem ACADEMY training centre now also offers a product knowledge session on the subject of locating cylinders with a wedge clamp systems.
